03/21/2024

Jeanette O'Hara is an OK LEND 2022 graduate and Founder/Executive Director of the nonprofit, Will's House, located just outside Tulsa in Jenks, Oklahoma. Will’s House serves as a specialized respite option that supports full time caregivers of children and young adults with medical needs or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Jeanette’s approach is simple yet profound: "What do you need? How can we help you?" This philosophy reflects a commitment to addressing the diverse and often overlooked gaps in services for caregivers and families.

Recently, Will's House received an extraordinary honor from the ARCH (Access to Respite Care and Help) National Respite Network and Resource Center. The organization recognized Will's House as an Innovative and Exemplary Program. This acknowledgment is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and impact that Will's House has had on the community.

In a letter of congratulations, ARCH expressed gratitude for Will's House's outstanding achievements and invited the organization to the National Lifespan Respite Conference in Albany, NY, from May 21-23, 2024. The conference aims to celebrate and recognize the exemplary respite services, with Will's House being among the four programs across the US highlighted for their innovative approach. As a part of this recognition, Will's House will be featured in a breakout session, offering an opportunity to share insights and experiences with a wider audience.

Jeanette O'Hara's vision has created a space where everyone is welcome, and no one is left behind. As Will's House continues to grow and make a difference, it serves as an inspiration for others to follow suit in creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome and supported.
